PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

Welcome to the RHS Track and Field team! As we begin a new season, we hope we can learn and grow together.  Our main goal this year is to help the students learn about teamwork, work ethic, and goal setting.

The following is information that parents and athletes should be aware of:

  • Time Commitment- Our team practices will go from 3:30-5:00 on Monday-Thursday, and Friday practice will go from 1:45- 3:30. If you plan to compete, you need to be at practice. Roll will be taken each day. Be prepared for practice, dress appropriately for the day.

  • Respect/Sportsmanship- Be a good sport to officials and opponents in and out of the competition area.  Be a good representative of Richfield High School and show what it means to be a Wildcat. Take care of personal belongings. We as coaches are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

  • Eligibility- All paperwork needs to be done on Register My Athlete, physicals turned in to the office (before the first day of practice), and fees paid before an athlete can compete.  Students’ GPA needs to be above 2.0 to be able to compete.  Students need to attend ALL classes, especially on the day of a meet.  If a student has a doctor’s appointment the day of a meet they need to clear it with the office before leaving so they can be eligible for the meet.

  • Concussions- All NFHS protocol needs to be followed after a head injury before a student will be able to return to compete.

  • Injury- PLEASE let us know of any aches or pains! However, It is normal to have some pain in track and field. Keep us up to date on how you are feeling, because we do not want anyone to compete injured.

  • Attendance- Try and make it to ALL practices.  We understand that you will not be able to make it to some practices, if this is the case, let us know AHEAD of time.  If you do not attend practice, you risk being able to compete. Some meets limit how many athletes can compete and we want to take athletes who have earned that right through hard work and participation in practice.  Make practice a PRIORITY.  Running and technique are things you can do on your own, so if you cannot make it to practice you are expected to do the workout on your own time.

  • Gear- This year we will get some team gear (t-shirts, jacket, etc.) from an online store.  All gear is optional.  We will give more information as it becomes available and a link to the store will be posted on the team website.

  • Fundraising- There may be a few instances where we try to help out with different activities for fundraising. This helps cover some hotel costs, can help pay for gear, or pay meet entrance fees.

  • Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Vape, and other banned/illegal substances-   We will adhere to Sevier School District policy 3050A when dealing with these substances.

  • Social Media -  This will also follow the Sevier School District policy 3050A.

  • School Binder App - We will be using a "School Binder" message/social media system to get announcements out to the athletes and parents.  If you would like to be included, please follow RHS Track in the app.

  • Home Meets- We will host two home track meets this year and each athlete is expected to help.  We will likely also need help from parents for some of the events (field events, finish line, etc.).

  • Overnight Meets- You will be expected to follow the rules and guidelines set by the coaches for these meets.  Anyone in violation of these rules will have their parents/guardians notified and required to pick you up and you will likely not be invited to attend another overnight meet.

We look forward to a great year and hope that you will contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks!
